Nathan Jonas (Joey) Jordison lahir pada tanggal 26 April, 1975 di Des Moines, Iowa di Mercy hospital. Jordison bersekolah di Waukee High School di Waukee, Iowa. semasa bersekolah, Jordison bermain drum. sebelum bermain drum ia bermain gitar. Jordison telah bekerja di Sinclair pom bensin di Des Moines, Iowa dan bermain dalam berbagai band extreme metal dari daerah Des Moines termasuk Modifidious dan Anal Blast.

Has suffered the following injuries while performing: Severely lacerated shin from pulling his drum set on top of himself, broken and scarred knuckles, concussion and stitches from a flying pipe thrown by Shawn Crahan.

He prefers playing guitar to drums

He created the term ‘Maggot’ for a Slipknot fan

Before Slipknot he was in the bands Avanga, Havenots, Modifidious and Anal Blast and The Rejects, now known as Murderdolls.

He saved the 2004 Download festival when Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich, was struck ill. Along with Dave Lambardo and others, he helped out.

Played bass, drums and guitar on the Murderdolls album, Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls, because they didn’t have a drummer or bassist at the time.

Won first Grammy in 2006 with Slipknot

Has been nominated 6 times for a Grammy
